Many people choose to leave a gift to the Shannon Moore Trauma Trust in their will.
This is a powerful way to create a lasting legacy and to ensure that your money is used to provide life-saving treatment to individuals who have survived trauma.
We always recommend that you consult with a solicitor to make sure your will is legally valid.
There are three main ways of leaving a gift in your will:
Residual legacy: This is a share – or possibly all – of the balance of your estate, once expenses and all other gifts to family and friends have been deducted. This type of gift is particularly valuable as it will not lose its value over time.
Pecuniary legacy: You may prefer to leave us a fixed amount of money. It is worth noticing that the effects of inflation could mean the true value of this gift could become less than you intended, unless you review your will regularly, or use wording to index-link your pecuniary gift.
Specific Legacy: This would be the gift of an item, such as property, personal possessions or shares. You can also dedicate the gift in your will to the memory of a loved one.
